Ferdous began his acting career in 1997 with the film Buker Bhitor Agun. He rose to fame in the early 2000s with his performances in critically acclaimed films like Hothat Brishti (1998), Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003), Chandrokotha (2003) and Nondito Noroke (2006). He has since acted in numerous commercially successful films, including Amar Swapno Tumi (2005), Moner Manush (2010) and Guerrilla (2011). He has also acted in a few Indian films, including Mitti (2001).
Apart from acting, he has also produced several films, including Kusum Kusum Prem (2011) and Ek Cup Cha (2014).
